In honor of National Dairy Month, Our State magazine is excited to share the June issue, which celebrates North Carolina dairy. Though the way we get our milk has evolved over the years, the way it all begins remains the
same — on farms with farmers and cows.

Morrisville, N.C. (October 1, 2013) – The Carolina/Virginia Dairy Products Association announced today it is changing the organization’s name to the American Dairy Products Association (ADPA) to reflect an expansion of the association’s membership, interests and focus.

While still advocating for members in North Carolina and Virginia, the association’s bylaws have been altered to allow for members from any state and to focus on the national dairy industry. The goal of ADPA is to promote the welfare of the dairy industry in all phases for both its members and the consuming public. The ADPA works to create an environment in which its members benefit from educational professional development opportunities as well as networking. To achieve this goal, the ADPA is dedicated to greater co-operation within the dairy industry and with local land-grant universities.

The refocusing of the association and the subsequent name change are an important improvement for supplier/vendor members who can now support the dairy industry in a consolidated manner, rather than supporting individual state associations.

“M.G. Newell will definitely benefit from the new American Dairy Products Association.  When so many processors and industry leaders come together for education and networking, it can only benefit those who attend,” said Gray E. Sherrill, Vice President/General Manager of M.G. Newell Corp.

The ADPA also created a new logo and launched a new website to reflect the name change and nature of the association. Please visit http://www.drinkmoremilk.org to view the new ADPA website. The association’s headquarters will remain at 2501 Aerial Center Parkway, Suite 103, in Morrisville, N.C.

About the American Dairy Products Association

Founded as the Carolina/Virginia Dairy Products Association, the ADPA has since expanded the focus of the organization to include the betterment of the national dairy industry. ADPA’s membership includes individuals or firms that own or operate dairy machinery, suppliers to the dairy industry, manufacturers or distributers of dairy products and other vendors related to the industry. ADPA is managed by IMI Association Executives, a Morrisville, N.C. based management firm. For more information about ADPA visit our website, http://www.drinkmoremilk.org.
